It's all about allyship at Riskified - Pride Month 2023

(upbeat music) - Being an ally to LGBT is all about authenticity for me. Allyship means allowing, enabling, safe, and accepting environment. Where people can be proud of who they are. - It's nice when people appreciate you for who you are as an individual. - This blank, my true self allows me to be more open and to build trust with my colleagues. - When we're authentic, we are true to ourselves. And when we are true to ourselves, then there's trust, and then there's collaboration. And these are the most important things in the workspace. - A good ally knows how to use their voices to amplify others. - By being allies and encouraging an open and safe environment, we also allow more diversity and inclusion to come into our organizations. - I think it's important for companies to be allies because representation matters. - I think my best advice to give to someone who wants to become an ally is to just get involved. Take time to listen to people. Take time to understand the problem and just put your skin in the game. - Even symbolic gestures such as the rainbow sticker could provide some comfort to minorities who live in prejudice settings. As long as you act honorably and consistently, you are a true ally. - And I think the best thing that companies can do to show their allyship is walk the talk. - You know, before Pride Month and after Pride Month. - It's our responsibility to make sure that our workers and our colleagues feel welcome, feel like they belong, and they can come to the office and be themselves. - This helps to promote equality, inclusivity, and belonging at work and more broadly. - This will allow many more amazing persons from different backgrounds to join our teams. This will benefit literally everybody and will make everything much more awesome. - Ultimately, it just makes sense. As a manager, Triscified, I am to lead by example and to create an inclusive environment that makes everyone feel so welcome without this day of background. - It's an honor to call myself an ally to some of my closest friends at Riscified and I'm really happy to see them feel a sense of belonging here.
